Men’s Basketball Bested Culver-Stockton

Canton, Mo. - The Graceland University Men's Basketball team took on the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Yellowjackets defeated the Wildcats, 96-79. Graceland move to 8-1 and are 5-0 in the conference.

Aleksa Markovic would open the game by sinking a jumper, and Darrius Davis would follow with a layup. Graceland would pull a nine-point lead early from an Austin Braun layup and free throws from Patrick Fisher (13-4). The Wildcats would close the gap to five points (28-23), Markovic would sink a three to break the run. Moments later, the Yellowjackets would go on an eight-point collection: baskets from Markovic, Carson Busch and Patrick Fisher. Graceland would close the first half with a layup and free throw from Braun to hold their largest lead of 19-points (48-29).

The Wildcats would open the second half from beyond the arches. Both teams would trade baskets. The Wildcats would push a five-point run to close their deficit to five points (66-61), Akeen Woods would break the run with a layup, and Amitia Afenjar would sink a layup to extend the Graceland lead. Moments later, Patrick Fisher and Aleksa Markovic would sink their own baskets to lead by 12 points. The Yellowjackets would hold their advantage and take the 83-70 victory over the Wildcats.
