Men’s Basketball Bests Harris-Stowe

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Men's Basketball team took on the Harr-s-Stowe State University Hornets. The YellowJackets defeated the Hornets, 87-65 and move to 2-0.

Half 1: Graceland 38 | Harris-Stowe 28
Both teams would go point for point. Graceland would take the first lead, Aleksa Markovic would drain one from the deep to push a lead, and he would follow by sinking three charity stripes. Austin Braun would increase the lead to seven from his three-pointer and layup (18-11). Graceland continues to increase its advantage; Patrick Fisher, Darrius Davis, Braun, and Amitia Afenjar would contribute. The Yellowjackets would head into the half leading by ten points (38-28).

Half 2: Graceland 49 | Harris-Stowe 37
Carson Busch would open the second half with a shot from the deep. Graceland would work an 8-2 run (59-41), points from Austin Braun (six points), Darrius Davis (one point) and Amitai Afenjar (one point). Midway through, both teams would go point for point; the Hornets would close their deficit to 12 points (63-49), and layups by Akeen Woods and Davis would break the run. A layup by Afenjar would put the Yellowjackets to hold their largest lead over the Hornets of 24 points. Harris-Stowe would end the game with a free throw for a Graceland 87-65 victory.
