Monroe Named Heart Big Game Football Player of the Week

Overland Park, Kan. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the first edition of the Big Game Football Player of the Week awards for week three (September 11). Gerald Monroe was named Heart Football Offensive Player of the Week.

Monroe and the Yellowjackets earned an impressive victory last Saturday with a 37-35 win over No. 7 nationally ranked Benedictine College.

The sophomore had 10 catches for 197 yards and four touchdowns in the victory, averaging 19.7 yards per catch.

Last season Monroe earned Heart Player of the Week and NAIA Player of the Week.
