Baseball Splits the Series to the Statesmen with Game Four Victory

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Baseball team took on the William Penn University Statesmen in a four-game series. The Yellowjackets fell to the Statesmen in game three 32-17 and would claim game four 10-4.

T1 – William Penn would get on the board first, adding four runs; a Graceland wild pitch, a ground out, and a double contributed (GU:0 | WP: 4)
T2 – Four William Penn would score from a single and a three-run home run (GU:0 | WP: 8)
B2 – The Yellowjackets would bring two runs from a Kamaehu Sanchez drilled single to center field to score Skyler Harris. Keith Whitaker drove a triple to left field to bring in Ethan Balogh (GU:2 | WP: 8)

A bases-loaded walk by Javin Stevenson would advance Travis Vaala's home. Yorges would score on a Statesmen wild pitch. Matt Klonsinski would cross home plate on a bases-loaded walk by Nicolas Boscan. Diego Hernandez drilled a single to right center to score Stevenson. Jorge Diaz stepped to the mound for 1.1 innings, facing nine batters. Zach Tanabe would close the game and get the save by pitching 0.2 innings, allowing no runs on two hits, one strikeout and facing four batters.
