Baseball Ends Day One Even with the Statemen

Lamoni, Iowa – The Graceland University Baseball team took the William Penn University Statesmen in a four-game series. The Yellowjackets fell to the Statesmen in game one 11-3 and would claim game two 9-8 in the eight.

B1 – The Yellowjackets were able to get on the board with a JD Woodruff single to right center to score both Jacob Lopez and Keith Whitaker (GU:2 | WP: 0)
T2 – The Statesmen would add one run from an RBI single (GU:2 | WP: 1)
B3 – A Zach Tanabe would cross home plate from his solo homerun (GU:3 | WP: 1)
T4 – Five William Penn runs would score from two RBI doubles and a Yellowjacket error (GU:3 | WP: 6)

Izaac Rabelo stepped to the mound for 3.1 innings, facing 18 batters. Mason Krogsgaard would come in next for 1.2 innings and faced 12 batters. Jacob Popovich would set in to close, going 2.0 innings and saw nine batters.
