Bio

Zack Mullins was selected as the Head WrestlingCoach in 2013 when Graceland University reinstated its wrestling program after 30+ years without the sport. Since then, Mullins has coached a multitude of National Qualifiers as well as All-Conference selections and help lead the program to multiple dual victories in each of his four seasons as Head Coach. Under Mullins, the wrestling program has been recognized as a Top 15 program in the country academically and has seen members of the team be recognized multiple times as Graceland’s Freshman Male Athlete of the Year as well as Graceland’s Sophomore Male Athlete of the Year. Mullins has seen a steady and consistent level of national success as he’s participated in 10 consecutive NAIA National Championships.

As part of a restructuring of Graceland’s athletic department to provide a strong leadership team, Mullins was named Associate Director of Athletics in June of 2017.

Prior to GU, Mullins spent two years as a graduate assistant wrestling coach at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. While at BCU he had the privilege of coaching eight NAIA national qualifiers and playing a role in growing a small team of 10 to 35 student-athletes.

Mullins was a four year varsity letterman in both wrestling and track and field at Briar Cliff University from 2007-2011 in weight classes ranging from 141-157 lbs. He was BCU's 2nd ever four-time NAIA wrestling national qualifier and Great Plains Athletic Conference champion his senior year at 157 lbs. Mullins was also a three-year team captain and first team all-conference selection in the GPAC.

Mullins graduated from Briar Cliff University in 2011 with a BA in Sport Management. He earned his MA in Human Resource Management in 2013 also from BCU.

Zack is originally from Lincoln, Illinois and currently resides in Lamoni, Iowa with his wife, Kelsey and daughter, Kendall.
