
Graceland Announces the Hiring of Zeja Shannon as Head Cheer Coach
Lamoni, IA – Graceland University is thrilled to announce the appointment of Zeja Shannon as the new Head Cheer Coach. Shannon brings a wealth of experience and passion for cheerleading, making her a perfect fit for Graceland's vibrant athletic community.
Zeja Shannon graduated from William Penn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services & Criminology. Her deep love for cheerleading began at age six, leading her to a collegiate scholarship, which fueled her passion for coaching. With eight years of coaching experience, including roles as the CEO of Z-Elite Sports Academy, Shannon has developed a strong foundation for building successful programs from the ground up.
"I am incredibly excited to join Graceland University and lead the Yellowjacket cheer team to new heights," said Shannon. "My coaching philosophy centers on technical skill development and fostering a supportive and inclusive team environment. I look forward to working with our talented student-athletes and contributing to the University's mission of holistic student development."
